NIJI Chat is built from the ground up as a Privacy-First, Local AI Application. This means the core functionality of the App operates entirely on your device.

1. Data We Do NOT Collect

  • Chat History and Prompts: All text inputs, conversations, and AI-generated responses are processed strictly locally on your device. We do not collect, store, transmit, or monitor your chat data. Your conversations never touch our servers.
  • Personal Identifiable Information (PII): We do not require you to create an account, log in, or provide email or phone number to use the App.

2. Device Data and Permissions

To ensure the App functions correctly and provides the best performance for your specific hardware, we access the following:

  • Hardware Specifications (RAM): The App locally scans your device's available physical memory (RAM) to determine hardware eligibility. This scan is used solely to recommend and unlock the appropriate AI model (e.g., NIJI Basic vs. NIJI Pro). This hardware data is evaluated on-device and is not transmitted to us or any third-party servers.
  • Storage Access: The App requires permission to write to your device's local storage to save the downloaded AI model files required for offline operation.

3. Network Access and External Services

While the AI processes your data offline, the App requires an active internet connection for specific initial setup tasks:

  • Downloading Models: The App connects to secure external repositories (such as Hugging Face) solely to download the required AI model weights directly to your local storage.
  • No user data is sent during this download process. Once the models are downloaded, the App can function completely offline.

4. Third-Party Analytics and Crash Reporting

The App does not utilize third-party tracking or analytics software that harvests user behavior data.

5. Children’s Privacy

Our App does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.
